Year 3
'Creating Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Everyone'
Welcome to Year 3
Year 3 is an important transition year as pupils move into Key Stage 2 and begin to develop greater independence and confidence as learners. We focus on helping children settle into new routines and expectations while building strong foundations in learning behaviours, knowledge and essential skills.
Our approach supports pupils to take increasing responsibility for their work, organise themselves and develop positive learning habits. Children are encouraged to become resilient learners who are willing to persevere, ask questions and reflect on their learning, with clear routines and high expectations helping them to feel secure and motivated.
We place great importance on developing communication, collaboration and social skills. Pupils are encouraged to work effectively with others, show respect and take pride in their achievements. Through a broad and engaging curriculum, children begin to deepen their understanding and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
Year 3 is a supportive, inclusive and nurturing environment where pupils are guided to grow in independence, confidence and enthusiasm for learning in Key Stage 2.
Please see below the Year 3 Curriculum Letter where you will find out all about what your child will be learning this term.
